Vital Women's Foundation exists to change how women's health is funded, understood, and cared for — partnering with governments and communities, and backing the research and ideas that carry it forward.
If you don't have your health, you don't have anything — you can't take care of your family, your parents, you have difficulty growing your business, you struggle to give back to your community. For generations, medicine has been built around men, and women were left to fit themselves into research, treatment, and care that was never designed with them in mind — paying for it in missed heart attacks, missed strokes, missed diagnoses of every kind.
We want to change this. We stand at a moment in history: by 2030, the world will see the largest transfer of wealth ever recorded, and women will control two-thirds of all private wealth. Health and money are converging in women's hands. McKinsey research shows that closing the women's health gap in Canada could add $37 billion a year to our economy by 2040.
I believe a small group of thoughtful, committed people can rewrite what women's health means for every generation that follows us. This Foundation exists to seize that moment and make a real difference for women. As Victor Hugo so aptly said: “To love is to act.”
