Privacy Policy

Last updated August 2026 · Vital Women's Foundation

This policy is a working draft, pending review by legal counsel. It describes our current practices in plain language; the final wording may change.

Vital Women's Foundation respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It is governed by Canadian privacy law — PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25.

What we collect

  • Newsletter: your email address, and a record of your consent (the date and that you opted in through this website).
  • Contact / donation-enquiry form: your name, email address, and the message you send us.
  • Analytics: aggregate, cookieless usage data (such as page views and country). We use Vercel Web Analytics, which does not set cookies and does not track you across other websites.

Why we collect it

  • To send you the newsletter you asked for, and only that.
  • To read and respond to messages you send us.
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it.

Consent

We collect your email for the newsletter only with your express, opt-in consent (an unchecked box you choose to tick). You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing (a link is in every email) or by emailing us. Sending us a message through the contact form is your consent for us to reply to it.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not run ads. We share it only with the service providers that operate this site on our behalf:

  • Resend — delivers our email (newsletter and contact-form notifications). Based in the United States.
  • Vercel — hosts the website and provides the cookieless analytics. Based in the United States.
  • Supabase — stores your newsletter consent record, in a Canadian data centre.
  • Because Resend and Vercel are in the U.S., some of your information may be stored or processed outside Canada, where different laws may apply. We share information otherwise only if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your newsletter email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We keep contact-form messages for as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterward. Analytics data is aggregate and not tied to you.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25, you can ask to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and withdraw your consent, at any time. To make a request, email hello@vitalwomen.com. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

Cookies & tracking

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our analytics are cookieless and load only after you accept them in the banner shown on your first visit. You can decline, and the site works exactly the same.
